There is a significant difference in the way human figures are used in scenes of feasting, warfare, and hunting—scenes particularly common in the Safavid-era Tabriz-Kashan school. Indeed, human figures are rare and seldom appear on Qajar-era textiles, whereas on Safavid textiles, they constitute the primary and most important subject of the illustrations.
